1850-C G$1 MS63 PCGS. Variety 1. Only 6,966 gold dollars
were struck at the Charlotte Mint in 1850, the second-smallest
production total of the series. Doug Winter estimates the surviving
population at 150-250 examples in all grades, leaving the 1850-C
tied with the 1859-C as the second-rarest Charlotte gold dollar (
the legendary 1849-C Open Wreath is the rarest). This attractive
