1850-C Gold Dollar, AU 50
1850-C AU 50 PCGS. The rarest collectible C-mint gold dollar whose mintage was a mere 6,966 pieces. A solid mid R.7 coin in AU condition, probably no more than 7-9 pieces exist in this grade range. This piece has the usual rough planchet the issue is known for, but there are few out-of-the-mint problems, and the fields are bright and retain a fair amount of luster.Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 25BG, PCGS# 7510, GSID# 8057)
