    Description

    Flashy AU53 1850-D Gold Dollar

1850-D G$1 AU53 NGC. A mintage of only 8,382 pieces ensures the rarity of this challenging Dahlonega date. The present lemon-gold dollar displays considerable semiprooflike luster along with a splash of peach toning on the left obverse field. The centers are incompletely brought up though peripheral elements are crisp. Thin marks noted above the DO in DOLLAR and between the stars near the bust tip.
Ex: Rarities Sale (Bowers and Merena, 1/2001), lot 414.
