Description

1850 G$1 MS63 PCGS. An attractive example of the second gold dollar issue. Despite a relatively high mintage, Garrett and Guth (2006) write that the 1850 is much scarcer in high grades than other P-mint Type One gold dollars. The present piece has splendid yellow-gold patina and lots of luster. The centers show minor weakness, but the surfaces are remarkably clean. Population: 41 in 63, 45 finer (8/08).(Registry values: N1793)
