Deeply Toned Premium Gem
1850 Gold Dollar
1850 G$1 MS66 NGC. Deep reddish color prevails on each side
of this Premium Gem second-year issue, with good luster on both
sides. A brighter gold patch in the left obverse field may be the
result of a shallow, tiny planchet lamination, but that is unclear.
The reverse shows some lilac tints, but any post-strike
distractions are absent. Census: 3 in 66, 1 finer (3/12).(Registry values: N4719)Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 25BF, PCGS# 7509, Greysheet# 8010)
