Description
Near-Mint 1850-O Gold Dollar
Scarcest O-Mint Type One
1850-O G$1 AU58 PCGS. CAC. Variety 1. The 1850-O is the
scarcest Type One New Orleans gold dollar. Only 175-250 pieces are
believed known in all grades. A surprising number of AU coins are
known and this one is just a bit of light friction in the fields
away from Uncirculated. The strike is strong throughout. The fields
are bright and overall the yellow-gold surfaces show a pronounced
accent of reddish patina around the devices. Minimally
marked.(Registry values: N991)Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 25BJ, PCGS# 7512, Greysheet# 8059)
