Collectible Dahlonega Issue
1851-D G$1 MS62 NGC. Variety 3-E. From a mintage of 9,882
pieces, the 1851-D is one of the more available issues from the
famous Southern mint, making it a popular choice with branch mint
type collectors. This impressive MS62 specimen offers well-detailed
design elements, with some of the usual softness on the lower stars
and the denomination. Dentilation is weak on both sides. The
lustrous orange-gold surfaces are lightly marked and the overall
presentation is most attractive. Census: 23 in 62 (1 in 62+), 12
