Description

1851 Gold Dollar, MS66
Infrequently Encountered So Fine

1851 G$1 MS66 PCGS. Rich yellow-golden color covers each side of this lustrous Premium Gem, with hints of orange and red hues. Only the hair of Liberty is slightly soft, while all the other design elements are sharply detailed. The 1851 is a common date in the Type One series, as one might infer from the mintage of 3.3 million pieces. Nevertheless, it is infrequently encountered in MS66 condition. PCGS Population: 44 in 66 (9 in 66+), 14 finer (3/26).
