Splendid Eye Appeal
1851-O G$1 MS65 NGC. Variety 1. The obverse stars from 12 to
3 o'clock show light die lapping, that at 1 o'clock showing a tiny
die crack from one point to the rim. This Gem NGC 1851-O gold
dollar offers splendid eye appeal over sandy-gold surfaces that
show deeper lilac accents near the rim. There are few mentionable
marks on either side, and the soft strike through LL and 51 in the
denomination and date is to be expected. Census: 47 in 65 (1 in
