Description

1852-C Gold Dollar, MS63
Only 16 Finer Examples

1852-C G$1 MS63 NGC. CAC. Winter-2. This exquisite Charlotte Mint piece displays beautiful sun-gold luster with developing orange patina on its reverse. The coin is sharply struck and shows no notable damage, only displaying the strike-through flaw in DOLLAR at LA, as expected of this issue. A low mintage coupled with a low survivorship makes this coin scarce in any grade with NGC only certifying 11 at MS63 with only 16 examples finer, while CAC has endorsed only five numerically finer (four stickered in MS64 and one graded at MS65) (1/26).(Registry values: N4719)
