Description

Bright MS64 1852-O Gold Dollar
Third Rarest O-Mint in the Series

1852-O G$1 MS64 NGC. Mint State specimens of the 1852-O gold dollar are rare, and Garrett and Guth rank it as the third-rarest O-mint behind the 1850-O and 1855-O. This lovely near-Gem is well struck, with honey-gold surfaces and good eye appeal. There is some central striking weakness noted on the reverse, with LA and the 5 in the date soft, but this piece more than compensates in other ways. Census: 12 in 64, 2 finer (12/09).
