1853-C G$1 AU53 PCGS. Variety 8-I. Somewhat weak in the central areas, as normal for the issue, with considerable remaining luster. The surfaces are lightly abraded and the legend and mintmark are sharply recut. Quite scarce, with a mintage of only 11,515 pieces, and very elusive in grades above XF.(Registry values: N1793)Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 25BV, PCGS# 7522, Greysheet# 8066)
