Appealing Near-Gem 1853-O Gold Dollar
1853-O G$1 MS64 NGC. An obtainable O-mint Type One gold dollar, the 1853-O is seldom found in Gem condition, making near-Gems such as the present piece popular. This example is fairly well struck, save for one mushy star at 4:30 on the obverse, and abrasions are few. The color is a pretty peach-gold, with much luster and appeal.
