1853-O G$1 MS65 NGC. Variety 1. High Date. A substantial mintage of 290,000 pieces matched the 1851 output of gold dollars at the New Orleans Mint, although the 1853-O is a bit scarcer. The issue is conditionally rare in Gem or finer grades. This example radiates sun-gold color with abundant mint luster throughout both sides. Marks are minimal and the strike is needle-sharp.
