    Description

    1855-C Gold Dollar, AU Details
    Type Two Essential

1855-C G$1 -- Cleaning -- PCGS Genuine. AU Details. Variety 1, the rarer of the two die pairings for this date. The 1855-C is famous and popular as the only Type Two gold dollar struck at the Charlotte Mint. Survivors are elusive and many are tightly held off of the market. This bright yellow-gold example displays the usual weakness in the centers but is well-defined around the peripheries. Pleasing, despite a light cleaning.(Registry values: N2998)

    Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 25C5, PCGS# 7533)
