1855-C G$1 --Reverse Planchet Flaw, Improperly Cleaned--NCS. AU Details. Variety 9-K. The last 5 in the date is to the right below the A in DOLLAR, and all digits in the date are sharp on this variety. Bright yellow-gold surfaces reveal fine hairlines, and a couple of small, shallow planchet flaws are visible to the right of the 1 in the denomination. Still a partly lustrous survivor of this low mintage and devoutly collected issue.(Registry values: N2998)Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 25C5, PCGS# 7533, Greysheet# 8071)
