Very Rare 1855-C Gold Dollar
1855-C AU 58. The 1855-C is an important issue as it is the only Type Two dollar from the Charlotte mint. It also has the distinction of being the most conditionally rare issue in the entire gold dollar series. As always, the middle digits of the date and the LL in DOLLAR are weakly impressed. There are faint traces of die clashing in the fields and the coin overall has a pleasing greenish-gold color. With microscopic examination, we notice the possibility of a minor field repair on the reverse.Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 25C5, PCGS# 7533, GSID# 8071)
