Description
1855 Type Two Gold Dollar MS62
1855 G$1 MS62 NGC. Crisply struck with pleasing definition on the date and Liberty's forehead curls. Type Two gold dollars were struck only in 1854 and 1855, aside from a tiny San Francisco production in 1856. Since there was a shortage of silver coins in circulation, gold dollars saw heavy use in commerce, and Mint State survivors are scarce relative to present demand.(Registry values: N4719)Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 25C4, PCGS# 7532, GSID# 8016)
