Choice BU 1855 Gold Dollar
1855 Type Two MS 64 PCGS. Simply outstanding quality in a Type Two gold dollar. This is one of the finer examples we have seen in some time. Even though there are quite a few survivors in lower grades, this date's status as a Type Two coin has greatly elevated its desirability, popularity, and price well beyond that of far scarcer issues of the Type One and Type Three designs. This piece displays rich yellow-gold color that is seen over both sides, and is well defined, except on the 8 in the date. Of course, the ubiquitous die clash marks show in the fields.Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 25C4, PCGS# 7532, GSID# 8016)
