 1856-D G$1 AU50 PCGS. Winter 8-K. Warm yellow-gold surfaces
are consistent throughout both sides and abrasion free, save for an
old mark between the ME of AMERICA. Weakness around the central
reverse, and at the U in UNITED on the obverse, are typical for the
issue. The 1856-D gold dollar is considered one of the key dates of
the series, with an original mintage of 1,460 and a survivorship of
under 100 examples. Many have been repaired, making this delightful
