Description
NGC 1856-D AU 50. With only a scant mintage of 1,460 struck, this date is exceedingly rare, in any grade. In fact, only four AUs and one mint state coin have been certified by NGC. This specimen is typical for the date and mint. There is weakness in the hair region and on the date with the 6 being the only well defined numeral. An opportunity to own this small piece of rare Dahlonega gold will not often present itself. Trends $10,750.
