1856 G$1 Upright 5 MS64 PCGS. Type Three gold dollars were introduced in 1856, and two date varieties emerged: the so-called Upright 5 and Slanted 5. This version is the scarcer of the two. Lustrous and well struck, with appealing orange-gold coloration and a few trivial nicks on each side. (Registry values: P2)
