Description

1856 G$1 Upright 5 MS64 PCGS. Two major varieties are recorded in the Guide Book differing in the date logotype. Those are the Upright 5 and the Slanted 5. The Upright 5 is scarcer, although the recent dispersal of a large hoard gives the false impression that the Slanted 5 variety is rarer. This Choice Mint State example has frosty and lustrous yellow-gold surfaces with exceptional eye appeal. Population: 30 in 64 (3 in 64+), 6 finer (8/16).
