Near-Mint 1856-S Type Two Gold Dollar
1856-S Type Two AU 58 PCGS. Double S. A relatively unappreciated issue from a mintage of 24,600 coins, the '56-S is scarce in all grades and among the best produced of all Type Two issues. This is a remarkably well preserved example that, except for a couple of tiny obverse marks, displays clean fields and devices and shows only faint die clashing on the reverse.Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 25C8, PCGS# 7536, GSID# 8075)
