Description

1856-S/S Type Two AU 55 Slightly Bent. Much more challenging than the 1855-O and the only San Francisco issue produced with the Type Two design. This is also the only Type Two produced in 1856. The surfaces are bright yellow-gold and still-lustrous. The center of the obverse was struck with a sharp object, causing the corresponding area on the reverse to bulge outward.
