1856-S G$1 Type Two AU53 PCGS. CAC. FS-501. The secondary S is wide to the northeast of the primary S. Yellow-gold surfaces retain luster in the recessed areas. The design features are well defined and the few small marks scattered about do not significantly detract. Popular as the only 1856-dated Type Two gold dollar was struck at the San Francisco Mint, with a production of just 24,600 coins.(Registry values: N1793)
