    Description

1856-S/S G$1 Type Two FS-501 AU50 NGC. Repunched Mintmark. Gold dollar production in San Francisco in 1856 was restricted to just 24,600 pieces, all of the Type Two design. This About Uncirculated representative shows appealing olive-gold patina with deeper coppery-orange overtones in the peripheral recesses. Well-struck and problem-free.
