Desirable Near-Mint 1857-D Gold Dollar
1857-D G$1 AU58 PCGS. Variety 9-L. The still-lustrous surfaces are primarily yellow-orange with elements of sun-gold and pink close to the margins. Well-defined for the issue, though the high points show a trace of softness mixed with a hint of friction. This Dahlonega gold issue is highly desirable, if more available than its stated mintage of 3,533 pieces might suggest.
