1857-D Gold Dollar, MS61
Low-Mintage Rarity
1857-D G$1 MS61 NGC. Variety 9-L. A Mint State wheat-gold
example of this later and low mintage Dahlonega dollar. A mere
3,533 pieces were issued, and no survivors are known in grades
above MS62. The present coin has unmarked surfaces. The borders and
motifs glimmer with luster. The strike is good though incomplete on
the wreath knot and the 85 in the date. Census: 2 in 61, 4 finer
