1857 Gold Dollar
Lustrous Type Three Gem
1857 G$1 MS65 PCGS. The 1857 was a higher mintage issue with
774,789 pieces struck, but because of the earliness of the date it
is scarce in Gem condition. Only 13 other MS65 coins have been
certified by PCGS with 14 finer (4/14). This piece displays even
reddish-gold mint luster and light die clashing is seen on each
side. Sharply defined in all areas. Housed in a green label
holder.Ex: Long Beach Signature (Heritage, 9/2011), lot 4178.(Registry values: N2998)
