Description
Gem Uncirculated 1857 Gold Dollar, MS65 PCGS
1857 G$1 MS65 PCGS. Traditionally considered a common date, the 1857 is surprisingly elusive in Mint State, especially as a gem, with only eight pieces having been so graded by PCGS with 9 in higher grades (8/04). This piece has outstanding mint luster that swirls around the surfaces of the coin. There is a considerable presence of rich reddish-gold color rather than the bright yellow usually seen. An elusive opportunity for the gold collector.(#7544) (Registry values: N2998)Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 25CD, PCGS# 7544, Greysheet# 8019)
