1857 MS 62 PCGS. A satiny example with pleasing, original color. Although generally considered as a common Type Three issue, mint state 1857 gold dollars are actually 5-10 times scarcer than several other dates of this design type. Sharply struck in most areas (except the 5 in the date) and showing only small, inoffensive abrasions scattered about.
