Description

1857-S Gold Dollar, MS61
Attractive and Rare

1857-S G$1 MS61 PCGS. Mint State examples for this issue are rarely encountered and this is a solid coin for the grade. PCGS reports only nine examples in Mint State, of which only five are finer than the current piece (5/25). Bright yellow-gold is evenly distributed over both sides. The strike is strong with some orange peel affect towards the reverse rims. This lustrous example will help build a premium date and mint set. Population: 4 in 61, 5 finer (4/25).
