Desirable 1859-C Gold Dollar MS62
1859-C G$1 MS62 NGC. Variety 1. The final Charlotte gold dollar issue, limited to a mintage of only 5,235 pieces. A smooth and luminous tan-gold piece, struck on a minutely granular flan. The centers show only minor strike incompleteness, and luster overwhelms the legends and wreath. High quality for this North Carolina facility, which never received equipment or funding equivalent to the "mother" Philadelphia Mint.
