1859-C G$1 MS62 PCGS. Variety 1. The only variety known. The final-year Charlotte Mint gold dollar issue, the 1859-C has a mintage of only 5,235 pieces. Deep orange-gold patination is imbued with traces of lavender and aqua-blue. The design elements are well-struck save for softness in portions of Liberty's hair. There are no significant marks. Scarce in all grades and rare in Mint State. Population: 3 in 62, 3 finer (12/13).(Registry values: N7079)
