1861-D XF 40 Mount Removed, Repaired, Brushed. A crudely manufactured coin, the surfaces have an irregular texture to them, perhaps from the minting process itself, perhaps from repair done later. Still, a mid-grade example of this rare, key issue in the gold dollar series, that because of its problems will be more affordable for some beginning collector.
