1862 Type Three Gold Dollar, MS66
Final High-Mintage Issue

1862 G$1 MS66 PCGS. Following more than 1.3 million gold dollars produced in 1862, only two issues through the end of the series had mintages in excess of 30,000 coins. Despite the high mintage of this issue, survivors are usually in lower grades, with an average certified grade of just MS61. This Premium Gem has frosty yellow luster in various light to dark shades. The surfaces are exceptional as expected. Population: 26 in 66, 4 finer (5/11).(Registry values: N2998)
