Description

1869 Gold Dollar, MS67
Ex: Harry W. Bass, Jr.
Few Are Finer

1869 G$1 MS67 PCGS. Ex: Harry W. Bass, Jr. The present Superb Gem was described in the second 1999 Bass catalog as "quality-wise certainly one of the highlights of the present offering of gold dollars from the Bass Collection." We can add that this coin displays splendid peach-gold toning, augmented by glimpses of sea-green along the lower borders. A sharp strike, potent cartwheel sheen, and pristine preservation confirm the lofty third-party grade. Only 5,900 pieces were produced for commerce. PCGS Population: 12 in 67 (2 in 67+), 2 finer (7/24).
