Description
Lustrous Gem 1872 Gold Dollar, MS 65 NGC
1872 G$1 MS 65 NGC. A lustrous Gem with a sharp strike and a few tiny abrasions that are acceptable for the grade. The fields display traces of mild reflectivity, and the honey-gold color is highlighted by hints of orange iridescence. Scarce in any grade from an original mintage of just 3,530 pieces, the 1872 gold dollar is an extraordinary condition rarity at the Gem level of preservation. Population: 1 in 65, only 3 finer (3/01).From the Clyde Godfrey Collection.
