Description

1875 Gold Dollar, AU58
Classic 19th Century Rarity

1875 G$1 AU58 PCGS. CAC. From a memorably low mintage of just 400 pieces, the 1875 gold dollar is the undisputed key to the series. This impressive near-Mint example shows sharply detailed design elements, with just a trace of friction on the high points. The thornlike projection from Liberty's throat identifies this example as a business strike, despite the deeply reflective prooflike fields. The lemon-yellow surfaces are lightly abraded and eye appeal is outstanding. Population: 11 in 58, 42 finer. CAC: 4 in 58, 8 finer (12/18).(Registry values: N2998)
