    Description

One of the Two Finest Known 1876 Gold Dollars

1876 G$1 MS66 PCGS. A mere 3,200 business strikes were produced of this date, making it the rarest Gold Dollar struck after 1875. Very few survived, especially in high grades. This is one of the two finest certified (and likely finest known) according to the November population data. While not completely struck up, the surfaces of this piece are richly frosted and show virtually no post-striking impairments. Bright rose and lilac toning is interspersed over each side of this impressive and very rare coin.
