Among the Finest Certified 1879 Gold Dollars
1879 G$1 MS 67 PCGS. The 1879 was apparently preserved in significant enough numbers to enable less discerning gold collectors to acquire a Select or Choice example with little difficulty. In MS 67, however, this issue is rare, and both major grading services have certified only three coins at this level and none finer (10/00). A colorful, reddish-gold survivor, the surfaces are distraction-free with glowing fields. Both sides are sharply defined in almost all areas.Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 25DH, PCGS# 7580, GSID# 8042)
