Dazzling 1880 Gold Dollar, MS67 ★ Prooflike
1880 G$1 MS67 ★ Prooflike NGC. Although most Type Three gold dollars were struck in small quantities, the 1880's mintage of just 1,600 pieces is significantly lower than usual. Delightful lemon-yellow patina endows the surfaces of this powerfully impressed specimen. Intense mint frost illuminates the devices, which contrast nicely against the satiny and essentially pristine fields of this handsome example.
