Superb MS68 1880 Gold Dollar
1880 G$1 MS68 PCGS. Always popular with collectors (and hoarders) because of its low mintage, the 1880 is also one of the few gold dollars that can be found occasionally as a Premium Superb Gem. This is a radiant coin that has glowing mint luster that races around each side unimpeded by the small abrasions that usually populate the surfaces of gold dollars. Fully struck, there is just the slightest hint of reddish patina over each side. Outstanding quality. Population: 20 in 68, 1 finer (12/04).(#7581) (Registry values: N4719)Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 25DJ, PCGS# 7581, GSID# 8043)
