Description

1883 Gold Dollar, MS68
None Certified Finer at PCGS

1883 G$1 MS68 PCGS. A nominal mintage of 10,800 gold dollars was achieved in 1883, but only a small percentage ever reached circulation. The issue was well-produced with many examples exhibiting prooflike surfaces. This Superb Gem stands out as one of the finest from the issue, with razor-sharp devices and virtually pristine yellow-gold surfaces. The fields display prooflike reflectivity with a satiny quality rather than the typical orange peel texture. PCGS reports no numerically finer pieces (3/26).(Registry values: N4719)
