1889 Gold Dollar, Superb MS68
Tied for Finest Certified
1889 G$1 MS68 PCGS. The 1889 is one of the most plentiful
dates in the gold dollar series, and is highly popular as a
final-year type coin. However, only a paltry six examples are
certified by PCGS as MS68 (7/15), the current coin among them. The
strike is bold and the satiny orange-gold surfaces are seemingly
free of even the slightest imperfection. The reverse is
