Ex. Pittman Lustrous Anne 2 Guineas

Anne gold 2 Guineas 1709 MS62 PCGS, KM531, S-3569, Schneider-Unl., EGC-454. One of a mere two examples of the date certified Mint State by PCGS and NGC, this lustrous Anne 2 Guineas boasts an impressive degree of sparkling harvest gold luster. Every feature remains well-pronounced and crisply outlined against the surrounding fields, speaking to a fleeting level of preservation for the issue. Sunset and amber hues ignite across the surfaces as the piece is rotated in hand, while a uniform distribution of superficial friction limits the grade from further heights. Though the current holder does not display the Pittman collection attribution any longer, the specific toning pattern and minute contact marks on this example clearly identify the offering as the same that we presented as part of the Law Collection in 2014, which prominently displayed the "Pittman" pedigree on its holder, and which is easily tied to that collection by the associated catalog's photographs. All said, a fleeting opportunity to own a historical coin, and one made further desirable by a record extending back to the 1950s.
