Description

Charles I Pound 1625-1649, S-2940, XF, Oxford Mint, Shrewsbury horseman trampling on arms, cannon amongst arms, 1642, gray tone. The obverse is double struck with some weakness in the field and the horse's left leg, but the King's portrait is strong. This is a VERY pleasing example of the largest silver coin struck in England, especially since it remains without the defects and knocks that haunt this series.
