Description
Edward VII Halfcrown 1902, S3980, MS65 NGC, Gem UNC, bold strike with full detail in the shield and excellent hair detail in the portrait, inevitable tiny abrasions in the thickly frosted luster, brilliant silvery white across part of the obverse merging into deep blue at bottom left, the reverse a truly exquisite blend of magenta or reddish gold and deep purplish blue. Wow, what a coin! The only common date halfcrown of this reign, as obviously many were saved as first year of issue, but almost no 65s have been certified, and few with the astounding eye appeal of this drop-dead gorgeous coin! From the Exeter College Collection
