Description

George II Crown 1750, S3690, D1351, 30.03g, Old laureate Head, V. QVARTO edge, AU58 NGC, an appealing coin for the grade, nicely balanced for strike and die centering, almost no marks, medium gray toning, the chevron lion's face now aging along with the king! Scarce, big, and a classic as it shows King George in his of-the-times flowing periwig and regal laurels. His numerous titles in Latin abbreviation crowd the reverse legend, reminding all viewers of his greatness. The last crown minted in Great Britain until 1818.
From the Grundy Collection.
